Gobble Up!
         Preparing for
     Thanksgiving Dinner!

Begin early. Give yourself
plenty of time to plan out the
meal and to make your shopping
list. We recommend at least 2
weeks. If using a frozen
turkey, you will need to allow
3 days in the out a cooking
schedule and timetable.
Indicate the dishes
you can make ahead, those that
can be frozen, and those that
will be cooked at the last
minute.

Make assignments. Assign
family and friends to bring
something to dinner.

Start the day before. You can
prepare appetizers and desserts
the day before Thanksgiving.
Prepare the center pieces,
table linens, and dishes the
day before. You can even set
the table, so you don’t have to
worry about it while you are
making dinner.

Be prepared. Make sure you
have some fun activities for
the kids. If the kids are busy
while you are in the kitchen,
there will be a lot less stress
involved for everyone! Have
them play Blessings Bingo, make
turkeys, color a picture of
what they are thankful for,
play a game, or write in a
gratitude journal. The kids
will have a great time and the
adults may even have a few
moments of grown up time
together!
